There is an old fable that says if you put a frog into a pot of boiling water, it will leap out. However if you put the same frog into a pot of water at room temperature, and very gradually bring the pot to a boil, the frog will not try to get out, but will simply stay in the pot as the water heats up. This is an apt metaphor for the very slow reaction we are having towards our looming Climate Crisis.
