A Light Horse representing green alternative energy and a Dark Horse representing corporate oil interests, run beside a conflicted Pandora’s Trojan Horse.

In April of 2026, for the first time ever two alternatives to fossil fuels, wind and solar power, generated more electricity globally than gas. In 2024 almost 92% of new energy infrastructure worldwide came from renewable sources like solar, wind, hydro, and geothermal. In 2016 investment dollars in green alternatives to fossil fuels globally surpassed investment in the fossil fuel sector for the first time.

In 2020 jobs in renewable green alternative energy worldwide, surpassed the number of jobs in the fossil fuel industry. Declining jobs in the fossil fuel industry are not actually because less fossil fuel is being burned. Increasing energy demand has meant that oil production and consumption are still continuing to increase globally. The loss of jobs in the oil sector, stems from new technologies and the ability to monitor infrastructure remotely. Corporate consolidation has also eliminated many jobs. Experts say that fossil fuel consumption will continue to increase until it reaches a peak around 2030. Oil will not disappear, there will be always be cases where it is the easier alternative. There are also many products we use that are created from oil such as plastic, asphalt, and carbon fiber among other things.

China for years, was known as the world’s worst polluter. China is now leading the charge globally in the clean energy revolution. In 2025 China brought 430 gigawatts of new solar and wind power online. This is almost equal to the entire power grid of the United States. In 2026 roughly one third of China’s energy grid is from clean renewable sources.

Australia has so much excess solar and wind power now, that for 3 hours every day they give away free power to their citizens.

Pakistan’s has so much new solar power that they were able to reduce their fossil fuel consumption by 40%, saving Billions of Dollars a year. It also left them largely sheltered when the Strait of Hormuz became an oil chokepoint during the US Iran Israeli War.

The transition away from oil won’t be easy. As more green power comes online, national grids will have to develop counterbalances for fluctuating solar and wind power. Stabilizing power infrastructure can include hydro, geothermal, battery banks, pump storage, clean gas plants, and natural gas plants. These can all be increased, or decreased quickly to create a stable power grid.

It took millions of years for the earth to naturally sequester the carbon, (greenhouse gasses) we currently burn in just one year. That is a 1,000,000 ~ 1 ratio. Its kind of like letting your dog take a dump in your living room, and just leaving it there. After a while your home, (our Home Planet) becomes a less comfortable place to live in. If we want Mother Nature to play nice, we have to treat her with respect.
