The Plains Indians loved their horses. The Nez Perce tribe in particular selectively breed their horses for speed, endurance, agility, even for a shorter tail that would not snag on the brush. They created the appaloosa horse breed for all these reasons, and even more important, for the polka dots. After all it would have taken ages to paint all those dots on their horses by hand. I have always loved the appaloosa horse, thank you to the Nez Perce tribe, you did an amazing job!
