God’s Hat Plume Factory

Hand Pulled Serigraph ~ 1985

12 x 17” ~ 26 x 43 cm ~ Edition 26

Egret painting a pair of egrets are fishing. Historically brought close to extinction for their tail feathers, the plumes look best on the egrets tail.

At the turn of the century feathers were the fashion rage. Some birds, such as the egret, were hunted to the brink of extinction because of their beautiful tail plumes. I was struck by the contrast between how nature creates a perfect feather in the pristine wilderness, and how people create things in a factory.
